There have only been 20 King's Singers since 1968 when the group began. The low turnover has helped maintain the group's stability and instantly recognizable sound.
David Hurley, Timothy Wayne-Wright, Paul Phoenix, Philip Lawson, Christopher Gabitas and Stephen Connally comprise the close-knit group that takes its name from the King's College Cambridge.
The six performers are kept busy with concerts, recording, media and education work across the globe. They are collectively known for their delightfully British wit, "spot-on" intonation, flawless articulation, incisive timing and vocal blend.
This critically acclaimed group has produced well over 150 recordings and has earned many awards, including a Grammy in 2009 for the studio album "Simple Gifts."
The "Singers" are a favorite of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. During the 2002 Winter Olympics, the two choirs performed together. They have also appeared on the Tabernacles Choir's Christmas Concert, broadcast via television and to a live audience of 80,000.
