The New Hollywood String Quartet, with guest artist, CCMA favorite, pianist Kirill Gliadkovsky, will set the “bow” high with the first explosive concert of 2009! This business about “exploding” is a bold claim, but the New Hollywood String Quartet (NHSQ) has recently entered the scene and has more than filled the shoes of the first Hollywood String Quartet which is a landmark in Southern California musical history from 1947-61.
They were an ensemble of Hollywood studio players that wanted to make more music after hours. Four current studio musicians, violinists Roberto Cani and Rafael Rishik, violist Robert Brophy and cellist Andrew Shulman dared to resurrect the beloved Hollywood String Quartet, with the aim of reaching the artistic level of the earlier group with the spin of their own vibrant virtuosity. |
